The little doorstep
Three pumpkins, one pot and enough breathing room to let every shape stand out.
A pale pumpkin, a blue-grey heirloom and a few smaller shapes for a calmer entrance.
Pale fruit gives the eye a resting point; blue-grey brings contrast without a bright orange accent.
Group the minis together rather than spacing every piece equally. The empty space becomes part of the composition.
Check the area for rain exposure, door movement and an unobstructed route.
Position the white pumpkin at the back and the blue-grey fruit to one side.
Group three small white pumpkins on a tray in front, without covering the drain or threshold.
Leave visible space between groups and turn any unstable fruit onto a steadier base.
If a large white pumpkin is unavailable, use two smaller pale fruit.
Replace the tray with a low, washable plant saucer. No fresh foliage is required.
Keep the display sheltered and away from direct sun. Check for soft spots, leakage and unstable placement. Remove damaged fruit promptly; painted or carved display fruit is not for eating.
